Is there anything sexier than a sweaty athlete at the top of his game? How about two hot men facing off on opposing teams? Or letting off a little pent up aggression in the team’s locker room, or soaping each other up in the showers after practice?

Let’s face it, there’s something sinfully sexy about men who compete against each other in any sport, be it football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, or hockey. But the stories we’re looking for don’t need to be about traditional sports; you can write about archery, cricket, bowling, NASCAR, horseback riding, or gymnastics. Whatever the sport, we want to read about it!

Score! is all about men scoring both on — and off — the playing field. We want tales of gay men who win not only the game but the man of their dreams, too! From harmless flirting to hot sex, show us just how far some men will go to score big.

The stories in this line will each have a unique cover and be released individually. This is NOT an anthology call and there is no upfront payment; authors will be paid quarterly on actual sales earned. If you haven’t published with us before, feel free to request a sample contract prior to submission.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

  • Stories must be between 12,000 to 40,000 words
  • Stories must contain a romance — any heat level, from sweet to erotic
  • Romance must be MM or MMM ONLY
  • Stories must involve sportsmen falling in love (can be with another male athlete or athletes, a coach, a fan, etc)
  • Stories may be any subgenre (contemporary, historical, paranormal, etc)
  • Stories must have a HEA or HFN ending
  • Adult stories only (no YA)

All stories submitted must adhere to the general guidelines found on our website. We do not consider multiple or simultaneous submissions. Reprints will be considered only if the author holds exclusive rights to republish.

Send a blurb and the full manuscript to submissions@jms-books.com with “Score!” and the title of your story in the subject line. Include any author credentials you may have.

We will acknowledge receipt of your submission immediately, and make a decision on your story within 4 business days.
